Using a loop hearing system.

If you are hard of hearing and benefit from hearing aids, them using a loop system should be fairly simple.

The first stage is to establish if the building operates a Loop hearing system. This can be established as the below symbol should be displayed indicating that this is the case. 

Next ensure that your hearing aids have an induction pick up, and simply set the hearing aids to “T”(Our preferred suppliers will be able to advise you on this procedure). Ensure that you are located within the Loop hearing system area to benefit from the improved sound qualities.

How do these systems work? 

The system operates by a cable running around a designated listening area, which has an electric current fed though the cable (loop) by an amplifier which picks up its signal from a connection to the source of sound. This source could be a microphone placed in front of someone talking or the sound track from the film in a cinema. Within the loop your hearing aid will pick up the magnetic field and the sound can be adjusted in the usual way. This system will reduce or cut out background noise making it easier to hold a conversation.
